The JobThe Probation Department is recruiting for a Probation Health Services Administrator who will plan, organize, coordinate and direct all medical care and related health service programs delivered in all Probation juvenile facilities and Day Reporting Centers. This position will implement and revise healthcare policies and procedures; coordinate nursing services through subordinate supervisors; and establish and ensure the quality of healthcare services within the Probation Department..

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Background: Successful candidates must not have been convicted of a felony or be on court ordered probation and must pass a full background investigation, including a DOJ and fingerprint check and polygraph.
License: Incumbent must maintain a current State of California Registered Nurse License and Basic Life Support certification.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Policies: All incumbents are expected to adhere to all county and department-specific policies.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must possess all of the following:
LICENSE: Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related field
-AND-
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience as a second-level supervisor or manager over Registered Nurse supervisors and other health care staff in a locked correctional facility/detention center.*
*Experience working with incarcerated patients in a non-correctional facility/detention center is not equivalent work experience. Experience must include performing full-scope supervisory duties such as hiring, firing, writing and signing work performance evaluations, and approving time off.
Desired Qualifications
A Master's degree and certification as a Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP) are highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable understanding of correctional health care and the regulations and legal ramifications involved in providing appropriate health care to an incarcerated population and juvenile facility.
