Executive Assistant to the Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs(Executive Assistant III)
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary hiring range is up to $6,031 per month (Steps 1 - 3), commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The salary range for this classification is $5,797 to $8,445 per month.
This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position.
Positions at Fresno State are to perform their work onsite. Some positions, depending upon University needs and operations, may be eligible for remote work, one day per week, pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy.
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Provost, the incumbent performs a wide variety of high-level functions to relieve the Provost of administrative details of the office. The incumbent contributes to a positive work environment. As the lead office staff, the incumbent works with other office staff to assure prompt responses and prepare correspondence and supporting documentation as directed. The incumbent is responsible for collecting, evaluating and interpreting data necessary to make informed recommendations to the Provost.
Key Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of administrative office operations, organizational and human resource practices and procedures in complex institutions.
- Advanced knowledge of the principles and procedures of operational, budget and fiscal analysis and techniques.
- Knowledge of principles of maintaining confidentiality and providing professional judgment, discretion, and executive-level service.
- Ability to understand problems from a broad, interactive perspective and discern applicable underlying principles to conceive of and develop strategic solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear, accurate, and professional executive level correspondence, reports, presentations and related documentation.

Education and Experience
- Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in related field and four years of relevant experience. Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting an executive-level office in higher education, public administration, or a similarly complex organization.
- Experience with PeopleSoft, Concur, financial/budget systems, electronic signature/workflow platforms, shared document systems, and/or project management tools.
- Experience supporting accreditation, compliance reviews, audits, executive searches, governance processes, or high-level institutional initiatives.
