With more than 20 years of experience in municipal governments in Alberta and Ontario, Simon Farbrother has dedicated his career to building strong Canadian cities. Simon has served as Edmonton’s City Manager since January 2010, leading the civic administration through a time of tremendous growth and transformation in the city. Simon has championed public service as a career of choice through his work with professional associations in the municipal planning and municipal government sectors. He served as President of the Canadian Institute of Planners in 1999 and as President of the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators in 2007. In September 2013 he will begin a term as President of the International City/County Managers Association.

Stephanie Wiggins is the Chief Executive Officer of Metrolink, a regional commuter railroad serving six Southern California counties with nearly 10,000,000 annual boardings operating over 538 route miles with a budget of $793 million. Wiggins is a native Californian who traveled the world as the daughter of a career military father. After re-settling in her home state, Wiggins began working on a temporary assignment with the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority and fell in love with the mission of public transit. Wiggins has also held management positions at the Riverside County Transportation Authority and at the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) where she rose to be Deputy CEO. Wiggins has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Whittier College and Master of Business Administration from the USC Marshall School of Business. She is a Board Member of the Los Angeles Chapter of Friends of the Children, on the board of directors of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Heart Association and an Advisory Board Member for the UCLA Lewis Center.

Through his efforts in Minnesota and previously with the National League Cities in Washington DC, he continues to work on a variety of social, economic, and systemic issues that impact local governments across the nation. Further, Timothy’s experiences motivate him to help local governments navigate the challenging political and economic realities of today. Coupled with his local government experiences, passion, and education through Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College, Timothy brings a comprehensive understanding of the challenges that face our education system. Supporting his comprehensive understanding of education are his years of experience in the DC public schools, through Teach For America, his educationally focus work in the non-profit sector (nationally/internationally), and his graduate teaching degree from American University. He utilizes his diverse range of experiences to help local governments gain a holistic view of a policy’s impact on the respective community. Timothy seeks to exercise his knowledge to help communities nationally understand the various connections and impacts of policies and environmental changes. Through his passion and experiences, he is working to provide actionable steps for local governments to build thriving communities.
