Position Description:
Correctional Officers are non-sworn, uniformed employees responsible to provide a safe and secure environment for inmates and staff in a corrections facility. Duties include but are not limited to: security checks, meal pass, inmate supervision, headcounts, reporting, processing incoming inmates, releasing inmates and various other duties.
Brief Description:
The Licking County Sheriff’s Office is seeking qualified candidates to build an eligibility list to fill current and future positions as Correctional Officers. LCSO Corrections Officers work in a 24 hour, full-service Corrections Facility. Licking County provides competitive salaries and benefit packages.
Job Prerequisites:
Minimum Qualifications: 18 years of age, US citizen, valid Ohio driver’s license, high school diploma or general equivalency diploma
Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications): Upon hire, candidate must complete the agency’s Jail Division Field Training Program for Corrections Officers. Within one year of employment successfully complete the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission Full Service Facility Corrections Officer Basic Training Program and various other certifications.
Compensation:
Salary: $27.90/Hour (starting salary) & $32.00/Hour (after two years of service)
