Employment Status: Full-time, probationary "non-exempt" appointment.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Responsible for monthly invoicing as well as analyzing, compiling data, generating and reviewing financial reports for budget line activities, researching any discrepancies, verifying budget line items, validating the indirect cost calculations, review and interpretation of contact requirements, requesting documentation from other internal sources required to accompany the invoice, maintaining accurate files on each project, tracking project closing dates, deadlines and any special instructions from funding agencies.
Invoicing for sponsored activities, bookstore, food services, human resources, general accounting, philanthropic funds, ASI funds, and interdepartmental transfers and/or invoices as needed.
Generating and posting of all completed invoices and maintenance worksheets into the accounting system for all auxiliary funds.
Responsible for reviewing, tracking, and maintaining payments for assigned projects; as well as following up on outstanding invoices and documenting with any follow-up details.
Provide monthly reconciliation reports between receivables AR aging reports and financial ledgers for auxiliary funds.
Responsible for auditing, reviewing, and verifying all activity that has been posted into project prior to final closeout invoice being sent out to funding agency. Complete periodic financial reports as required by various funding agencies.
Assist in billing/accounts receivable document retrieval as needed by various funding agencies and/or auditors. Participating in desk audits and various site reviews as requested from funded sponsored agencies.
Assist with special projects as needed in the auxiliary accounting department

Applicants must possess verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with students and colleagues.
Applicants must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment, initiative and independence to achieve results.
Applicants must be able to apply accounting procedures and practices to the analysis of basic accounting problems; analyze and interpret accounting data; apply problem-solving techniques in finding solutions to basic accounting problems; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Applicants must possess a thorough knowledge of financial record-keeping, mathematical and general office methods, procedures, and practices.
Applicants must have general working knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies and procedures, ability to apply independent judgment, discretion and initiative to address routine problems, work independently, and make sound decisions and recommendations regarding accounting activities.
Applicants must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, current web browsers, query tools, integrated financial systems and record management systems, such as student accounting, cashiering, and financial aid. Knowledge of PeopleSoft is preferred.
Education and Experience:
Equivalent to three years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience where the primary responsibility is performing accounting duties and fiscal clerical work in support of accounting functions.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
