Description: The Department of Accounting and Finance in the School of Business and Public Administration (BPA) at California State University-Bakersfield (CSUB) invites applications as a department chair and associate or "full" professor of accounting (tenure granted) starting the fall semester of 2020. The chair reports to the School of Business and Public Administration Dean and provides advice on all academic and faculty issues affecting the school. The chair is responsible for curricula and academic programs of the department, advising of majors, assessment of student learning outcomes, instructional services, professional community outreach and departmental personnel (faculty and staff). The chair provides leadership in the development of new curricula and academic programs of the department, and in the conduct of the program review and accreditation, where appropriate. The chair has major teaching responsibilities at both the main campus (Bakersfield, CA) and the Antelope Valley campus (Lancaster, CA). The chair receives a reduced teaching load appropriate to the level of responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications: 1) Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution. 2) Relevant academic leadership experience. 3) Competency in teaching and using current education technologies. 4) Experiences with both undergraduate and graduate programs. 5) An established record of effective teaching, research and service appropriate for tenure and promotion to Associate Professor or Full professor at CSUB BPA. 6) Scholarly Academic (SA) qualified in accordance with the CSUB BPA AACSB faculty qualification policy.

Preferred Qualifications: 1) Substantial knowledge in the U.S. GAAP. 2) Industry practice experiences. 3) Related professional certifications, such as CPA, CMA, and/or CIA. 4) Fundraising experience. 5) Knowledge of both AACSB business accreditation and AACSB accounting accreditation. 6) Excellent leadership, administrative, interpersonal and communication skills. 7) Preference will be given to those candidates currently holding an appointment with tenure in a regionally accredited institution. 8) Evidence of excellence in teaching. 9) outstanding record of published scholarship in peer-reviewed journals. 10). Teaching and research experiences in Auditing preferred, other accounting related fields considered.
