SALARY: $6,186 - $7,496/month

A Project Manager performs a variety of duties related to developing, coordinating, evaluating, recommending, and implementing policies, processes and procedures Incumbent may oversee and coordinate project activities; identify resources; develop scope of work; schedules; make recommendations on work flow processes; provide statistical analysis; customer service policies; cost projections and staffing requirements to ensure project activities, goals and objectives are met and within budget and timelines related to the specific program assignment.
The current vacancy exists in the City Manager’s office and will be responsible for the City’s Cannabis Program. Immediate and future vacancies will be filled from this eligible list for a period of six (6) months from the date the eligible list is created, with the option of extending that period at the City's discretion. Should the competitive process be suspended for this recruitment, the eligibility list may be limited to three (3) months.
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications on or before the posted filing deadline in order to qualify for the examination and does not assure a place on the eligibility list.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree with specialization in finance, real estate, business administration, public administration, engineering, planning, environmental science, geography, historic preservation, architecture, architectural history, industrial technology, construction management, or a related field AND two (2) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: real estate development, fixed asset capital financing, governmental planning, redevelopment, economic development, air emission, air regulation, historic preservation, construction management, inspection, permits/plan check, engineering, or a related field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Recruitment may be limited to a specific area of expertise as required by the hiring Department.
Eligibles certified for consideration for this position will be required to successfully pass a Department interview and a Department of Justice fingerprint process prior to employment with the City of Fresno.
This position requires the possession of a valid driver's license. Candidates considered for hire must provide proof of a valid driver's license and current copy of their driving record.
THE SELECTION PROCESS
The examination process may consist of the following:
Application Review - Qualifying Only: Applications submitted will be reviewed and a limited number of the most qualified candidates may be invited for an oral examination. The selection will be based upon those applications and resumes which demonstrate the greatest breadth and depth of applicable education, experience, skills and training appropriate to the desired assignment. Therefore, applicants are urged to submit sufficiently detailed information in their application materials for a proper evaluation. NOTE FOR REQUIRED ACTION: Upon final review of applications, only the most qualified for this assignment will receive a request for Exam Reservation. Those who do not respond to the request by the set cutoff date will not be scheduled for the Oral Examination. Subsequently, the next most qualified applicant will be invited for the Oral Examination. Therefore, it is your responsibility to ensure you are checking your email frequently so that you can receive and respond timely. Oral Exam - 100%: A panel of subject matter experts will conduct a job-related oral examination to evaluate a candidate’s knowledge of: purchasing methods and procedures; price and cost analyses; federal, state and local laws related to cannabis purchasing; basic math principals; oral and written communication skills; principles of good customer service; and personal traits for the position. Candidates must achieve a passing score to qualify for the eligible list.
The oral examination has been tentatively scheduled for the week of November 4, 2019. PAY, BENEFITS & SCHEDULE

LIFE INSURANCE: Benefit equal to annual salary; premium paid by the City.
LONG-TERM DISABILITY: Benefit equal to 66.66% of monthly salary up to $7,500 per month after 30 days of disability; premium paid by the City.
