Job Description
OverviewThe primary objective of the Marketing Manager is to promote compressed natural gas usage and safety in the community. The marketing Manager will oversee and administer the department's marketing initiatives, in addition to supervising the current energy and marketing representative.
Responsibilities
• Administer and manage the department's Gas Rebate Program and the Plumbers to People program
• Manage staff to ensure both programs are successful and meet requirements of the Railroad Commission
• Develop and manage professional marketing plans, including social media strategies & campaigns, to promote department initiatives in print, video, website, and social media
• Act as liaison between the Gas Department and the public including developers, builders, engineers, plumbers, and compressed natural gas users to promote the department's programs
• Manage advertising programs to attract new markets and to promote safety awareness and energy efficiency
• Ensure requirements of Railroad Commission regarding public awareness are met by managing public awareness messages including design, content, and distribution of informational and utility bill inserts
• Conduct focus groups regarding safety messages
• Participate in outreach events by attending community events, surveys, and conducting home inspections for natural home advantage rebate
• Regularly attend and participate in community meetings and committees
• Provide customer service to staff and citizens to develop strong relationships with local organizations by attending meetings and disseminating information on industry standards
• Present a positive, professional image as a representative of the City of Corpus Christi Gas Department
• Pursue sales opportunities for new builder enrollments to benefit the gas rebate program
• Manage budget and resources of division
• Perform data entry to issue work orders for meter sets, process gas rebate requests and maintain public awareness surveys
• Maintain inventory of marketing items to ensure adequate supplies for community events
• Ensure marketing invoices are processed timely
• Work with Gas Department staff on timely installation of new gas services to both commercial and residential sites
• May be asked to perform additional responsibilities within scope of this position and the Energy and Marketing Representative
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
• Exempt - Full-Time
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS)
• Four (4) Years of Experience
Licenses and Certifications
Required
• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating
A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications and may request additional information. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
