Security And Technical Review Sme-wmdSecurity and Technical Review SME-WMD Onsite Position – Lorton, VA CORTEK, Inc, an EM Key Solutions, Inc. (EMKS) Company, is currently searching for a Security and Technical Review SME to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency in Lorton, VA., by providing subject matter expertise in safeguarding high-value WMD/CWMD technical information. The SME reviews technical content in agency documents for technical security classification content and implements policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting agency classified/sensitive information from unauthorized disclosure in accordance with DoD or other relevant security classification guidance.Founded in 2015, EMKS is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) offering a broad range of services to support Federal Government enterprises in meeting their mission requirements and business demands.Duties/ResponsibilitiesProvides subject matter expertise in safeguarding high-value Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD)/CWMD) technical information.Coordinates with scientific, technical, and other subject-matter specialists to assess the classification level appropriate to information sensitivity.Implements policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting agency classified/sensitive information from unauthorized disclosure.Coordinates with offices, both internal and external, to protect the equities of stakeholders whose information is involved in the agency's day-to-day operations.Reviews classification guidance generated for new or ongoing programs to ensure that specific and correct guidance is available to customers.Ensures even application of standards by reviewing information and documents scheduled for release outside the agency and to various customers.Reviews classification and declassification decisions rendered by DTRA subject matter experts to ensure decisions are in compliance with national security standards.Consults with appropriate officials to determine whether a proposed classification level is too high or too low.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or significant experience in a technical field, preferably relating to CBRNE or the CWMD mission3-5 years of experience in an engineering, scientific, technical, or analytic positionExperience using Security Classification Guides (SCGs) to make technical classification decisionsKnowledge of the derivative classification processCurrent Secret with eligibility to Top Secret Clearance – (TS/SCI highly desired)Desired QualificationsKnowledge of CUI implementation (e.g., categories, markings, etc.)Export Control Experience – knowledge of the CCL and USML and what they are used forExperience working with the derivative classification processExperience with or knowledge of prepublication security reviewsExperience or knowledge of patent security reviews.Experience with or knowledge of security review relating to solicitation processes (e.g., requirements, BAAs, Source Selection Plans, SBIR/STTR, etc.)Knowledge of science and technology (S&T) efforts that contribute to the development of Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) capabilitiesWorking knowledge of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and/or explosive (CBRNE) threatsKnowledge of models, simulations, and data that could be used in understanding WMD threats and potential effectsDOE/DoD Training (DoD's Nuke Weapons Overview/Orientation Course or NWOC or DOE's Historical Records Restricted Data Reviewers (HRRDR) Course or DOE's Overview of Nuclear Weapons Classification (OWC) Course).EMKS is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer committed to hiring and retaining qualified and talented individuals.
