Job Description
OverviewThe Work Coordinator leads and coordinates operations for the Choke Canyon team in Three Rivers, TX, ensuring maintenance and repair activities comply with City, State, and Federal standards. The position manages projects, oversees staff training and safety requirements, and ensures equipment is properly maintained, inventoried, and safe for use. Responsibilities cover operations and maintenance at Choke Canyon Reservoir.
Responsibilities
• Directs and performs specialized operations, maintenance, repairs, and inspections at Choke Canyon Reservoir, including actuators, generators, crest gates, sluice gates, jet flow systems, and related dam equipment
• Coordinates staff in advanced repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities to ensure work meets City standards for quality, reliability, and safety
• Coordinates new dam infrastructure projects, including communication with contractors and project managers during installation, testing, and project implementation
• Interprets engineering plans and analyzes water usage, material needs, and operational data to forecast demand and maintain required inventory levels
• Leads strategic planning with Work Coordinators, Process Optimizers, Team Leaders, and Choke Canyon staff to develop work strategies, protocols, and solutions for operational issues
• Assists with operating and capital budgets by developing recommendations and evaluating procurement, leasing, outsourcing, resource costs, and operational needs
• Serves as Project Manager by assembling subject matter experts and coordinating action groups to develop strategies and resolve complex operational issues
• Participates in department and City project meetings, develops work strategies, and coordinates activities with other City departments
• Participates in the hiring process by developing job description questionnaires and interview questions and assists with employee counseling and progressive discipline
• Develops employee schedules, prepares operational reports, and monitors work activities and assignments
• Maintains accurate work and equipment records in Maximo, Excel, Word, and other tracking systems and ensures staff properly document assigned work and equipment maintenance
• Plans and schedules equipment, materials, and personnel for projects and ensures resources are available to support operations
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
• Exempt - Full-Time - 40-hour work week
• Must be available to work additional hours as needed
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS)
• Three (3) years of experience
Licenses and Certifications

• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hiring.
• TCEQ Dam Safety Training
• Boater Safety Training
Required within six (6) months of hire
• Customer Service Training
