We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatch Assistant to support daily logistics and transportation operations in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment. This role plays a key part in coordinating deliveries, communicating with drivers, and ensuring schedules run efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with dispatching and scheduling deliveries
- Coordinate with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure on-time shipments
- Track deliveries and provide real-time updates on shipment status
- Enter and manage data in ERP, dispatch, and inventory systems
- Prepare reports, schedules, and shipping documentation
- Handle incoming calls and emails related to logistics and delivery coordination
- Support problem-solving for delays, route changes, or delivery issues
Qualifications
- Experience in dispatching, logistics, transportation, or scheduling preferred
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, dependable, and customer-service focused
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
- Experience in lumber, building materials, or manufacturing is a plus
