Collins Aerospace, a leading technology company, seeks a GEOINT Technical Field Support Specialist to provide Linux systems administration and software maintenance support at DMS‑MD, Fort Meade, MD.Responsibilities Provision, install, configure, operate, and maintain systems hardware and software related to a Linux infrastructure for classified programs.Manage servers, storage, networking, and authentication platforms, including RHEL, RHEL KVM virtual machines, and network devices.Perform system administration tasks such as patching, hardening, performance monitoring, tuning, and security hardening.Configure and maintain STIG‑compliant systems per DoD security standards.Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across physical and virtual environments.Automate system tasks using Ansible and Bash shell scripting.Install and configure software applications requested by end users.Support workstation and server operations 24/7, including occasional out‑of‑hours work.Develop software applications or scripts in Python and Java for complex systems.Interact daily with users, contractors, and customer organizations to troubleshoot, analyze performance, and provide improvement recommendations.Qualifications Active, transferable U.S. government‑issued TS/SCI with CI Polygraph security clearance prior to start date.Current DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II or IAM Level I certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, CAP).Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration, including server and storage management.Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or advanced degree with relevant experience.Strong knowledge of Linux architecture, deployment, networking, performance monitoring, and security hardening.Experience with DHCP, DNS, LDAP, IPA, CIFS, NFS, Samba, and general Unix/Linux system security.Familiarity with backup, recovery, disaster‑recovery processes and products such as NetBackup.Experience with security infrastructure tools (Antivirus, ACAS/Tenable, etc.).Knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and container orchestration.Proficiency in scripting languages (Shell, Python, JavaScript, PHP, Java, XML, HTML) within a Linux environment.Experience with HP server hardware support and diagnosis.Preferred Qualifications Experience deploying and managing multi‑server environments.Experience using IT incident/service‑request systems.Knowledge of Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 administration.Experience with COTS application installation and deployment.Benefits & Compensation Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD, commensurate with experience.Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability.401(k) with employer match, tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment.Flexible work weeks (9/80A, 5/40) and core work hours.Vacation, parental leave, wellness, and child/elder care programs.Relocation assistance for eligible candidates.RTX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
