Summary
The Orange County Criminal Justice Resource Department has an opening for a part-time, benefited, Recovery Court Coordinator. The work involves meeting regularly with participants in Adult Recovery Court and Family Treatment Court and supporting ongoing recovery from substance use by monitoring treatment and compliance and performing court coordination, grant management, and case management responsibilities. This position works in close collaboration with other recovery court stakeholders.Work is performed under the general supervision of the Criminal Justice Resource Department Director with some leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in the performance of duties, both in terms of planning and accomplishing work and in making decisions regarding needs and requests of staff and the public.This position supervises a case manager position. Performs related work as assigned.The successful candidate will be required to be present at the Chapel Hill courthouse for all Adult Recovery Court and Family Treatment Court staffing and court sessions, which are typically every other Wednesday. Additional in-office hours will be negotiated with the candidate.This is a safety sensitive position and participation in the Drug and Alcohol Program is required. Background check is required before hire.NOTE: The hiring range is on the posting NOT on the job specification.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in a human services field AND two years of case management experience working with a criminal justice population or a substance use/mental health population; ORAn equivalent combination of training and experience as defined above. A higher degree does not substitute for work experience.Substance Use Training and Specialization preferred.Familiarity with substance use screening tools and toxicology preferred.Prior experience with treatment and diversionary programs and/or courts, court procedures, and state sentencing procedures, preferred.Prior experience with grant writing and management preferred.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSPossession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.All offers of employment are conditional upon successful clearance of a background check and pre-employment drug testing.
