Summary
Deputy Administrator
As the Deputy Administrator, you will:
- Direct, manage, formulate, and approve policies, programs, functions, and goals of all Washington and Massena Offices providing policy development and analysis for these offices, and communicates the Administrator's policies, goals, and objectives to senior staff.
- Counsel and assist the Administrator in the formulation of plans designed to increase the Corporation's effectiveness in implementing the Saint Lawrence Seaway Act; provide counsel on all areas of the Corporation's jurisdiction, including budgetary matters, proposed legislation, employee and labor relations, operations, interaction with the Canadian St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation and Transport Canada, and strategic planning.
- Serve as principal representative of the Administrator and Corporation in dealing with Congress, representatives of other Federal Agencies, Washington-based associations, and embassies.
- Review proposed trade or economic legislation and analyzes policy implications for Corporation programs.
- In consultation with the Administrator, develop the Corporation's positions on internal, external, and international agreements for those actions that may have political ramifications.
