Our client is seeking an Ordinance Enforcement Officer to conduct inspections, investigate complaints, and ensure compliance with local regulations. This position combines fieldwork, documentation, and public interaction, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who is professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable working outdoors in a variety of conditions.
Schedule: Part-time (5 hours/day) | potential for full-time hours
Pay: $22.00/hour
Status: This is a temp to hire position for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Patrol the community and identify potential ordinance or code violations.
- Investigate complaints related to property maintenance, housing, public health, and other community concerns.
- Conduct inspections and document findings using electronic reporting systems.
- Issue notices, warnings, and citations when appropriate.
- Communicate with property owners, residents, and business owners regarding compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and case documentation.
- Prepare information for court proceedings and attend hearings when required.
- Participate in community education and outreach efforts related to local regulations.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One year of related enforcement, inspection, code compliance, or similar experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to interpret and apply regulations while exercising sound judgement and attention to detail.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license required.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
