Part-Time Ramp Agent - AUS Airport

The Ramp Agent is responsible for the loading and unloading of baggage, cargo, and mail as applicable onto the aircraft, along with guiding the aircraft to and from gates. You will be ensuring the secure and prompt handling of aircraft on the ground, in compliance with safety standards and airline guidelines. The duties extend to providing support for various ground operations, playing an important role in maintaining the seamless flow of airport services.
Responsibilities include repetitive loading and unloading of baggage, cargo, and mail onto aircraft with accuracy, operating ground service equipment such as pushbacks, tugs, belt loaders, and baggage carts, reading and analyzing aircraft load sheets, checked baggage tags, and cargo labels, marshalling aircraft to and from gates, ensuring safe movement of aircraft on the ground, adhering to strict safety protocols and airline regulations, working efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, lifting heavy objects in varying weather conditions, communicating effectively with team members and airline personnel, maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas, performing routine inspections of equipment and reporting any issues, following standard operating procedures for ramp operations, adapting to the changing of flight schedules and priorities, exemplifying PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards, and performing any additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications include being 18 years of age or older, legally authorized to work in the country of employment, holding a valid driver's license, communicating effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking), ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means, passing a background check and drug screen, eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable), and being flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical activity/working conditions may include ability to lift up to 70 pounds, prolonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicable, reaching with arms and grasping with hands, pushing, pulling, crawling and crouching at times in confined tight spaces, bending, stretching, squatting, kneeling, climbing and working at elevated heights, exposure to moderate and at times high noise levels, exposure to outdoor elements, ability to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms, tasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers, and specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
