Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Dispatch Coordinator to support daily shipping and receiving operations. This role is responsible for checking in drivers, coordinating yard activity, preparing shipping documentation, and ensuring all orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment and enjoys working with both drivers and warehouse teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Check in and check out truck drivers for pickups and deliveries
- Direct drivers to appropriate loading/unloading areas in the yard
- Communicate safety rules and ensure compliance during loading/unloading
- Prepare and print shipping documents including bills of lading, pick tickets, and labels
- Coordinate with yard and warehouse teams on order readiness
- Ensure all paperwork is completed and signed before driver departure
- Log incoming shipments and update inventory records
- Close out completed orders in the system and maintain organized documentation
- Schedule outbound shipments and coordinate delivery times with drivers and customers
- Maintain clear communication across departments to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in dispatch, logistics, shipping & receiving, or warehouse office support preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams
- Basic computer skills; experience with SAP, Open Dock, or Shipper Guide is a plus
- High attention to detail and accuracy with paperwork
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Professional attitude with strong customer service skills
