Job DescriptionUnder the direction of the Deputy Labor Commissioner Regional Manager, the Senior Deputy is responsible for supervising, planning, organizing, and reviewing the work of team members as well as offering ongoing training and education. In addition, the Senior Deputy collaborates with other programs and stakeholders to promote education and access for the public and bring forth labor law enforcement awareness.ResponsibilitiesSupervise team members and oversee their work.Plan, organize, and review the work of team members.Provide ongoing training and education.Collaborate with other programs and stakeholders to promote education and public access.QualificationsMust be reachable on an employment list, have transfer eligibility, or have reinstatement eligibility.Must meet minimum qualifications, which may be demonstrated with a degree or transcripts.Must be willing to take the exam to gain employment list eligibility.Compensation and BenefitsEffective July 1 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees may experience a salary reduction between 2 % and 4.62 % in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). Details available on the California Department of Human Resources website.Working ConditionsLocation: 2 MacArthur Place Suite 800, Santa Ana, CA 92707. This is a high‑volume, fast‑paced office that handles wage claims and constantly interfaces with the public.
