Summary
The Safety Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all clients, staff, and the property at a homeless shelter. Operations within our facility are 24 hours. This is a relief position that requires face-to-face relief with mandated overtime. This position reports to the Shift Supervisor and Security Manager. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform daily inspections of all clients' rooms. Escort clients to appointments as needed. Interact with and monitor clients' behavior, maintaining a good rapport by providing excellent customer service. Encourage clients to comply with the facility's policies and procedures. Control access at the main entrance by screening all clients and visitors with a magnetometer or x-ray machine to detect and prevent weapons from entering the site. Perform Crisis Intervention to de-escalate potential crises and document all such situations and interventions.
