    The Transportation Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and monitoring transportation services to ensure timely, safe, and efficient movement of drivers, vehicles, and/or passengers. This role serves as the central point of communication between drivers, management, and clients, prioritizing service requests while maintaining operational efficiency and high customer service standards.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and dispatch drivers, vehicles, or transport staff according to schedules, service requests, and priority levels
    • Monitor real-time transportation activity and adjust assignments as needed to address delays, emergencies, or changes in demand
    • Maintain accurate dispatch logs, schedules, and records using computerized dispatch or tracking systems
    • Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, clients, supervisors, and other departments
    • Prioritize transportation requests to ensure on-time service delivery and efficient use of resources
    • Track driver availability, route progress, breaks, and completion of assignments
    • Respond promptly to issues such as delays, equipment problems, or customer concerns and escalate when necessary
    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
    • Assist with training new drivers or dispatch staff as needed
    • Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach in all interactions
    Required Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Prior experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics, or customer service preferred
    • Proficiency with computers, scheduling software, or dispatch systems
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience in healthcare transportation, logistics, or fleet coordination
    • Knowledge of routing, scheduling, or transportation regulations
    • Supervisory or lead experience
    Physical and Work Environment Requirements
    • Ability to sit for extended periods while using computers and communication equipment
    • Ability to handle high call volumes and fast-paced operational demands
    • May require evenings, weekends, holidays, or on-call availability depending on operational needs
