Job Announcement

The City of Chandler Mayor and Council’s Office is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Executive Management Assistant. The position is scheduled to work Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

Who we are

The Mayor & Council Office serves as the administrative and operational support team for Chandler’s elected officials, providing professional assistance to the Mayor and City Council in carrying out their responsibilities to the community. The office coordinates a wide range of activities, including constituent services, community engagement, intergovernmental relations, policy implementation, scheduling, communications, and special projects. Working closely with City departments, external stakeholders, and community partners, the Mayor & Council Office helps facilitate communication, advance Council priorities, and support effective local governance.

Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are seeking someone to provide executive-level administrative support to City Council. Duties include drafting complex correspondence and reports, resolving constituent concerns, managing executive calendars and travel, and maintaining strict confidentiality. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism and sound judgment when navigating politically sensitive environments and interactions.

Minimum qualifications
• An Associate's Degree in Public or Business Administration or a related field; and
• 3 years of progressively responsible and related experience in researching and analyzing data, responding to resident/customer requests and/or program management; and
• A valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Desired qualifications
• Experience working with elected officials, senior leadership, and the public.
• Experience managing calendars, travel coordination, and multiple competing deadlines.
• Experience drafting formal correspondence and reports.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.

This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.

The City of Chandler will conduct a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
